The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) on June 29, 2025, issued a circular regarding the reclassification of Industries expansion of the White Category.
The following has been stated: -
•The AP Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has adopted CPCB's 2025 classification framework based on Pollution Index, exempting non-polluting sectors under the White category.
•A Steering Committee has identified 716 additional non-polluting sectors in Andhra Pradesh, to be added to the existing 54 CPCB-notified White category sectors.
•These sectors are now exempt from consent requirements under the Water and Air Acts as per the Jan Vishwas Act, 2023. All Zonal and Regional Offices must implement and report compliance within a week.
